SPACEWatch Storage Suite: Enterprise vs Network Edition.
The SPACEWatch family includes a number of products. We often get asked to highlight the differences between the two most popular ones: Enterprise Edition and Network Edition.
There are two areas of difference:
- Architecture—affecting how you deploy and use SPACEWatch
- Capability—Network Edition includes a subset of the capabilities of Enterprise Edition.
In general you should consider Enterprise Edition if any of these apply:
- Larger networks—where you want to work with more than 2 million files
- Multi-user use—where more than one user wants to search and analyse the same space database, e.g. for support, storage audit, consolidation or migration planning
- More complex storage management challenges—where you want to view all of your storage detail in one place
- Maximizing your investment—with Enterprise Edition's advanced automation you can get immediate access to up-to-date space data whenever you need it. No need to wait for time consuming scans of your network before you can start working. This is can be particularly time wasting for remote or disconnected systems.

Additional Enterprise Edition Capabilities
Enterprise Edition has the following key capabilities in addition to those available in Network Edition:
- Highly scalable—can support the largest networks limited only by your SQL database capability
- Very flexible deployment—see the next section below.
- Easy background automation of SQL database maintenance from multiple points in your network
- Email integration e.g. automation of report generation and distribution
- File Duplicates 'search in' option to limit searches to particular areas of collected data
- Advanced Trends such as storage utilization investigation (v5.5 build 49 and later)
- Tree Summary organized by system, not drive
